A Moment of Your Time

Some folks say they believe in a firm separation of politics and art — but art has always been political, even if you just paint a landscape. Think about it.]

If you've been reading my articles, essays and posts over the last quarter-century, you know that I keep my political views to myself. Sure, I've had to bite my tongue on numerous occasions, but usually our leaders, in their two-steps-forward-one-step-back way, have managed to keep us generally on the right heading.

But I choose this moment to speak up. Our leaders are leading us blindly on a detour from which there very well may be no getting back.

Let me say that I have been proud to be an American, though that's no longer the case. But here's what I am proud of: the citizens who are speaking out against Trump and the puppetmasters who work his strings.

I could write much, much more, but so many other Americans are telling the truth with more cogency than I can. So I offer here a message from Senator Bernie Sanders. His words are urgent and compelling—and I ask you to please watch the video in its entirety. In it, he addresses only one of the many things going wrong, but it’s an important one.
