Return to the Sedona Plein Air Festival
Plus, still a couple of openings in my Sedona painting retreat!

After a gap of a few years, I am excited to be invited once again to participate in the prestigious Sedona Plein Air Festival. Established in 2004, the long-running invitational event is a highlight in the plein air painting community. This year marks my tenth year of participation, and I am looking forward to again capturing Sedona’s stunning red rock landscape and sharing my vision of it. I’ll have more information about the festival, which this year runs October 20-26, 2025, as we get closer to the date.
Speaking of Sedona, I still have two spots left in my April 7-11 painting retreat. If you’d like to work with me and a very small group of painters (no more than four!) I’d love to share with you some of my favorite painting spots. This will be a “walking to sketch” retreat in which we’ll move beyond the parking lot and onto some of Sedona’s easy trails to get better views. I promise you a rewarding experience!
If you’re interested in the Sedona retreat (cost is only $300, not including travel, meals and lodging), drop me a line at michael@mchesleyjohnson.com.
