My trip to Scotland is only two weeks away. I’m excited! If you’d like to support me on this trip, read on!
In September, 2024, I’ll be heading to Scotland for a full month. I’ll be painting, sketching, taking photographs and hiking–all with the goal of completing my new book, THROUGH A PAINTER’S BRUSH: SCOTLAND. This book will be like my other THROUGH A PAINTER’S BRUSH books (available at Amazon), filled with images of my paintings and photos plus personal essays.
I’ve been to Scotland twice before. I painted on the Isle of Skye, the Central Lowlands and also Orkney, where I have family roots. This time, I’ll be heading to Aberdeenshire, Pitlochry and the Isle of Arran. (Oh, and a side trip to Northumberland, which is not in Scotland, of course.) Scotland is an enchanting place with a vast variety of stunning landscapes, and I am so eager to go back and paint some more–and to share my experience with you.
Would you like to help me get to Scotland? To finance the trip, I’m hoping you’ll consider one of two options:
For $300, I’ll put you on the list for receiving a framed 6×8 painting of Scottish scenery based on the reference materials (gouache sketches, pencil drawings, photos) I gather on the trip. Last time I did this, everyone was extremely pleased with the paintings they received! I would expect to ship this in time for Christmas 2024. Shipping to the lower 48 US states is included. (Other countries extra.) You can see my current studio paintings and gouache sketches of Scotland here.
For $335, you’ll not only get the 6×8 painting but also my new book! I will ship THROUGH A PAINTER’S BRUSH: SCOTLAND once it’s available. (I plan to have this out in the summer of 2025.) The book will be approximately 120 pages plus many, many images of paintings and photos of my painting locations, plus lots of personal essays and journal entries of the trip. Shipping direct from Amazon to the lower 48 states is included. (Other countries extra. Also, if you don’t want a signed copy, the book will be available on Amazon.)

I hope you’ll support me on this trip. I’ve had lots of support on my previous two trips to Scotland, and I am so grateful. Thank you to all who have helped!
