Upcoming This Week: Painting Retreat in a Cool Place
My painting retreat explores Downeast Maine and the Canadian Maritimes
It’s been another record-breaking summer of heat. Next year promises to be the same. If you’re an experienced plein air painter and are looking for a cool retreat, read on!
Every year, I lead a couple of painting retreats in exciting places. This week, eleven experienced plein air painters will be gathering in the easternmost corner of the US to paint Lubec, Maine, and Campobello Island, New Brunswick. Think bold cliffs, cobbly beaches, spruce-studded bogs, and a historic fishing village. And lobster! If this whets your appetite, I plan on hosting this retreat again next August. If you’d like to join us, let me know and I’ll add you to the “interested” list. Once I firm up details (most likely this fall) I’ll let you know.
I’ll publish a wrap-up of this week’s retreat next week. But for now, here’s a video of one of my favorite spots, plus a few photos and some sketches.
