You have my condolences for that Dallas trip. The freeway south of Dallas is the worst design I have ever seen. The underpasses, and there are several, are designed to function like riding up a teepee. You can not see over the top until you are over the top.
In 2024 I drove west on that freeway and it was stop and go. Apparently there was an accident ahead. When I finally was able to get around the ACCIDENT there were tow trucks removing vehicles from the down side of one of those teepees from all four lanes. Do not know what caused the accident but what a mess. Never again!
